If we always keep in mind where this Advent journey will pass through
unto completion, we would refer to so-called "holidays" as holy days and
spend them differently from how the world suggests we do.
THE CHILD WE WELCOME ON CHRISTMAS DAY WE SHALL FOLLOW THROUGH GOOD FRIDAY UNTO EASTER SUNDAY. THE HOLY INFANT WE ADORE IN A MANGER IN BETHLEHEM WE SHALL WAIL FOR BY THE CROSS AT CALVARY BUT ALSO EXALT FROM THE OPENED TOMB AT THE SEPULCHRE.
Christmas indeed deeply touches the heart and greatly gladdens the soul. But it is only one of the stations of the journey, we know that! The Stations of the Cross may, in a sense, include Christmas and, yes, Advent, too. Advent continues until our actual meeting with Jesus and forever living with Him in heaven. In between are stations.
